Women in Democracy – Discover Parliament

Find out how decisions that affect you, your family and community are made and how to get yourself heard. Discover how to get involved, changing your future and helping your community. Clare from Parliament will lead interactive workshops. Discover how Parliament works, how national decisions are examined and how laws are made. Explore women’s role in the democratic process today. Attend this event and learn how to improve things for your family and community. This will include the opportunity for a Women and Parliament guided tour of the Houses of Parliament and a certification upon completion which will be given on the International Women’s Day 2016.

There will be five workshops:

o Discover Parliament - Foundation Level, for people just starting to think about politics
o Get your voice heard at Parliament- How to campaign, join up with other women and how to get an issue discussed in Parliament
o Women and the vote - Understanding the history
o Independent research - For people who are keen to get into politics
