Female Genital Mutilation Conference 2011

The EOW Conference 2011 (FGM – A Painful Reality)

The Eva Organization for Women (EOW) in collaboration with the University of Leicester have organised this conference regarding the human impact of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), at the University of Leicester, on June 18th, 2011 at 11am - 4 pm.

“This conference has been an eye-opener, empowering the community, informing and sharing knowledge and experience to avoid this devastating and barbaric act which has no place in modern society. We need to let those at risk know that the world has not forgotten them”.

EOW would like to say a heart-felt thank you to everyone for their support and help. The conference had a great turn-out and we hope that it was successfully in fulfilling its purpose in raising awareness of FGM thanks to our speakers, volunteers and our contributions. We hope all our attendees left with more knowledge on the subject and can contribute in positively tackling such sensitive matters.

We are now in process of producing informational package (such as DVD and leaflets) for educational purpose.

EOW are now offering training (schools, health professionals, etc.) and public speech to empower community. So, if you are interest please get in touch on + 44 (0) 7961618589 or email us on sadia@eow-charity.org
